Polytech Mouldings has a diverse customer base and we supply an extensive range of bespoke components into key industries across the world.
Primarily focused on engineering applications, Polytech Mouldings works collaboratively with its customer in these sectors to produce products and components that are effective in their application.
Polytech Mouldings is constantly involved in producing bespoke products & components in a range of materials including Polyurethane, Rubber, Polypropylene and Nylon. As we have complete control of the manufacturing process from mould design and tooling through prototype testing and final production, the spectrum of solutions which we provide is extremely diverse. For more information on Polytech Mouldings’ manufacturing capabilities please contact us.
Polytech Mouldings’ bespoke components often require more specific technical properties to perform in demanding and extreme environments.
In a number of protection applications, including roller and wheel coatings, Polyurethane is bonded to metal components to provide an enhanced solution. Utilised extensively by manufacturers and automotive production lines, bonded solutions prevent direct metal contact and can be tailored to the specifics of the operating environment. Direct bonding during the moulding process provides components where bond strength exceeds the tear strength of the polyurethane.
Polytech Mouldings’ rollers are used throughout our industry sectors in a number of applications. With the manufacturing and tooling capabilities offered by Polytech Mouldings, we provide a variety of solutions from small nylon products utilised as skateboard wheels through to larger transport solutions that facilitate offshore piping and tank wheels for water treatment works.
Our materials offer high abrasion resistance providing excellent performance as transfer rollers, guide wheels and drive rollers, By providing a full range of shore hardness’ and offering shot blasting, bonding, and machining, Polytech Mouldings offers a full service roller solution.
Polytech Mouldings’ sealing solutions are industry recognised from years of engineering excellence and expertise.
Polytech Mouldings’ seals are an essential industry solution protecting integral machinery and equipment across the world’s most critical sectors. Offering a range of profiles and sealing specifications including energised, twinset and cup seals, products for rod & piston applications and a selection of wiper options, Polytech Mouldings’ specialist engineering division provides bespoke and standard seals from new and existing designs.
Our materials have excellent wear and abrasion resistance due to their outstanding mechanical properties. They also exhibit oil, chemical and hydraulic resistance to meet the demands of their working environments. The quality of these components is paramount to ensure that the reliability and lifespan of the products and technologies they are used in is maximised, downtime is minimised and performance is improved.

Shot blasting is a very aggressive and abrasive procedure, not only to the products and components being processed, but the parts and equipment being used. Therefore, coatings and components used in this application need to have extremely high levels of resistance particularly from surface impingement.
This is a key consideration as numerous materials classified as suitable for high abrasion environments are often focused on sliding abrasion applications as opposed to impingement. Usually these applications lend themselves to softer materials and previous experience has shown that elastomers will generally outperform steel or metal parts especially when the impingement is direct.
The demand of this market has dictated the need to produce components that can withstand extreme physical displacement but still maintain high levels of integrity and accuracy.
The environments in which our components are used necessitate extreme levels of abrasion resistance and our materials allow us to exceed these demands where more traditional materials would fail.
Product examples:
Polyurethane is our core material option in the manufacture of star wheels due to it’s durability and grade range. This makes it viable to be used across the range of industries that use these parts, We also offer TPE grades as rubber alternatives that offer food contact accreditation where required.
Range of industries:
Whilst numerous existing designs are utilised across these industries, due to the variety in screened media and changes in customer designs and demand, our bespoke production options are an essential aspect of our portfolio. We have invested continuously in both our software and machining infrastructure, to ensure we can offer full service production on new designs and modifications, from mould manufacture to component production and delivery.
In many applications, particularly those focused on engineering, there are certain parts and products that are designed to degrade/wear out/fail with repetitive use. This degradation is often a requirement or an unavoidable consequence of the part’s application, and as such they are expected to be repaired or replaced regularly. Unlike impingement applications, such as shot blasting, wear parts generally focus more on sliding abrasion applications where two or more surfaces are in direct contact and slide/rub against each other.
Our aim is to work alongside our customers to ensure part design and material selection are the most effective choices to maximise the lifespan of the wear parts without impacting on performance.
Our material options are generally tailored towards abrasion applications and as such we have extensive expertise in this area.
The flexibility of our range of materials suits the vast, and diverse requirements of the manufacturing sector. Our products can be specifically manufactured to operate in environments that require significant oil, chemical and hydrolytic resistance. They carry outstanding abrasion resistance and provide cost effective solutions that are flexible in design and result in lower downtimes and higher product performance.
